It's all about self love. This is the work we all are charged with. There have been startling discoveries made that children of a younger and younger age are learning self criticism and even self hate. Child suicide was not something that I had ever heard of when I was growing up in the 80's... but in this modern fast paced age of information where we are constantly comparing ourselves to others and being compared.... We are truly challenged to stay in our own lives, to appreciate what makes us individual, where our gifts are, and how to move beyond coveting what others have.... So much of what we see in the external world is an illusion. It is staged.
In order to love the skin we are in the first step is acceptance. We then must learn to move past just accepting what is... and really rejoice. celebrate our "us-ness". I challenge you to celebrate your "you-ness"... just as an exercise... look at yourself. Feel the breath in your lungs, the legs under your body, the feet touching the earth. The air that touches your skin.... breathe in deeply until you feel intoxicated by the air that fills your lungs and feeds you life.
Look at your hands. Who do they remind you of? did you look up to that person? how did they love you? is it so hard to imagine loving you in the same way? You are perfect. We are all born perfect. Somewhere along the way we begin to believe the message that we are anything but that perfection that we were brought here as..... somehow some way we must find moments to retain some of that youthful innocence and self love and lack of self consciousness and rebirth that self subconsciousness..... the truth that we are all wonderful and without imperfection.
